The presence of a complete general secondary education or a junior bachelor's degree (junior specialist). Categories of persons subject to special conditions of participation in the competitive selection for higher education on the basis of complete general secondary education in accordance with the Rules for Admission to Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 2022.

Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements
Certification of graduates is carried out in the form of a qualifying state examination Step and a practically oriented examination in the specialty and ends with the award of bachelor's degree in technology of medical diagnostics and treatment. The professional qualification (3221 - Laboratory Assistant (Medicine) is awarded by a separate decision of the examination commission.
Programme learning outcomes
LO01. To carry out pre-starting procedure of workplace equipment and personal preparation for carrying out laboratory investigations with observance of safety measures and personal protection, to provide preparation of samples of various origin for investigation as well as their storage. LO02. To determine qualitative and quantitative composition of substances and their mixtures. To demonstrate application of knowledge about morphological changes of tissues and organs to diagnose pathological conditions, identify erroneous results and take measures to correct them. LO03. To apply modern computer and information technologies. LO04. To understand physical and chemical principles of staining and apply appropriate methods in laboratory investigations. LO05. To verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of oncopathology (norm / pathology). LO06. To verify the results of laboratory tests in the clinic of internal medicine (norm / pathology). LO07. To verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of childhood diseases (norm / pathology). LO08. To verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of surgical diseases (norm / pathology). LO09. To verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of dermatovenereological diseases (norm / pathology). LO10. To verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of infectious diseases (norm / pathology). LO11. To perform histological and cytological examinations, to verify their results (norm / pathology). LO12. To perform general clinical, hematological studies, to interpret the results with allowance for normal and critical values, limitations of the study method, clinical and other laboratory parameters, detection of implausible results. The purpose of the educational program is to train a specialist who is able to perform the work of a laboratory assistant in the field of healthcare in a position that possesses the technologies of the laboratory diagnostic process, organization and management of the laboratory, provides advisory interaction with clinicians, performs research work, carries out the educational process in the preparation of laboratory assistants for pre- and postgraduate stages, has knowledge in the field of medical sciences, health sciences for the prevention of malnutrition, and the implementation of activities that promote proper nutrition as an important component of public health.
