Learning outcomes
PRN 1. To carry out preparation of equipment of a workplace and personal preparation for carrying out laboratory researches, with observance of norms of safety and personal protection, to provide preparation for research of samples of various origin and their storage. PRN 2. Determine the qualitative and quantitative composition of substances and their mixtures. Demonstrate the use of knowledge about morphological changes of tissues and organs to diagnose pathological conditions, identify erroneous results and take measures to correct them. PRN 4. Understand the physical and chemical principles of staining and apply appropriate methods in laboratory research. PRN 13. Perform quantitative and qualitative biochemical studies, interpret their results. PRN18. Perform molecular and genetic research to diagnose human diseases.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Be able to write schemes of chemical reactions. 2. Have basic knowledge of general, inorganic and organic chemistry. 3. Have basic skills of the simplest operations in a chemical laboratory.
Course content
"Medical Chemistry" - a science that combines organic chemistry, biology and medicine, as well as introduces students to the medical and biological properties of organic components and their impact on living organisms. Studies the features of structure, methods of synthesis and physicochemical properties of a number of organic compounds.

The discipline "Medical Chemistry" consists of 2 modules. Learning outcomes for the semester are assessed on a 100-point scale. Modular control includes 2 content modules, assessment for homework and independent work. In total for the semester: 1 current test, 2 modular tests, assessment for homework.
