Learning outcomes
Carry out training of workplace equipment and personal training BEFORE laboratory tests, in compliance with safety standards and + personal protection, provide training for the study of samples of different origins and their storage. Determine the qualitative and quantitative structure of substances and their mixtures. Demonstrate the use of knowledge about morphological changes of tissues and organs for the diagnosis of pathological conditions, identify erroneous results and take measures to correct them. Understand the physical and chemical principles of staining and apply appropriate methods in laboratory research. Perform general clinical hematological studies, interpret the results taking into account normal and critical values, limitations of the research method, clinical and other laboratory indicators to detect unlikely results. Perform quantitative and qualitative biochemical studies to interpret their results.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the disciplines "Analytical Chemistry", "Medical Chemistry", "Human Anatomy", "Cytology and Histology of Man". 2. Ability to independently apply knowledge of analytical chemistry, medical chemistry of human anatomy, etc. disciplines for solving specific scientific and practical problems, skills of working with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. 3. Possession of basic skills in the chemical laboratory.
Course content
The discipline "Biological Chemistry" introduces students to modern principles of synthesis, decomposition and interconversion of the basic structures of living things (proteins, lipids, carbohydrates and nucleic acids). The concepts of metabolism and energy with the environment are given, the role of carbohydrates and lipids as the main suppliers of energy to the human body is characterized: the reactions of glycolysis, gluconeogenesis are characterized. oxidation and biosynthesis of fats. Modern ideas of metabolism of proteins and nucleic acids are presented, the role of hormones in the regulation of metabolism in normal and in pathology is considered.
