Course content
"Nutritional and digestive physiology" is an integrated interdisciplinary science that emerged at the intersection of nutritional physiology, digestive physiology and health. Nutrition provides a person with energy and plastic material. A balanced diet promotes healthy longevity and the body's ability to resist the effects of adverse factors. Nutritional physiology studies not only the body's needs for proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins depending on the functional state of man, but also the influence of the composition and functional properties of food on physiological processes in the body. Digestive physiology studies the functioning of the digestive system and digestion of food, assimilation of nutrients and removal of unprocessed residues. Thus, the independent sciences of nutrition physiology and digestion physiology in the discipline of higher education are logically integrated into one subject.
