Learning outcomes
Demonstrate communication in dialogue with colleagues and the target audience, conduct professional scientific discussions, reflect in writing and present the results of their research in Ukrainian. Use theories and laws of physics, chemistry, biology and other sciences to solve pressing problems in the field of sports nutrition. Understand the basic terms and concepts of the scientific basis of nutrition of athletes. Demonstrate knowledge of the types and main provisions of the diet of young athletes and at different stages of the training cycle. Demonstrate knowledge of unloading diet therapy (starvation). Establish patterns of physiological (metabolic) disorders of the athlete's health caused by non-compliance with the principles of sports nutrition.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the disciplines "Food Chemistry", "Human Physiology", "Metabolism", "Food Technology". Ability to independently apply knowledge of human physiology, food chemistry, food technology, etc. academic disciplines to solve specific scientific and practical problems; work with scientific and scientific-methodical literature. Possession of basic skills of comparative and organoleptic analysis.
Course content
The discipline "Nutrition in Sports" is part of the program of professional training of educational level "Bachelor" in the educational program "Nutrition". "Diet in sports" is a selective discipline that covers the issues of balanced, rational, adequate, optimal nutrition of athletes, according to their physiological needs, aimed at improving physical performance, resistance to known volume and intensity of physical activity at different stages of the training cycle. . Introduces the features of the diets of athletes in various sports, the possible impact of nutrition on the correction of health of people with occupational injuries and the consequences of active sports life. The course is designed to highlight the mechanisms of the impact of special professional sports nutrition on the health of athletes and their quality of life.
