Individuals with a complete general secondary education are accepted to study for a bachelor's degree on a competitive basis, regardless of the sources of funding for studies. Admission is based on the results of External Independent Evaluation of three subjects defined by the Rules of Admission of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Graduates who have successfully defended a qualification project and passed a comprehensive exam are issued a standard document on the award of a Bachelor of Philology in specialization Oriental Languages and Literatures (translation included), Major - Chinese
Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1. To communicate fluently on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages orally and in writing, using the language knowledge for the effective intercultural communication. PLO 2. To process information effectively: to locate it in various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, to critically analyse it, interpret, organise, classify and systematise. PLO 3. To organise the process of learning and self-education. PLO 4. To understand the fundamentals of human being, nature, and society functioning. PLO 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 6. To use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialised issues and problems in the field of professional activity. PLO 7. To understand the main philological issues and the ways to solve them by using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. To know and comprehend the language system, general features of literature as an art of speech, and history of the Chinese language and literature, to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activity. PLO 9. To describe the dialect and social varieties of the Chinese language, to outline the sociolinguistic situation. Examination regulations and grading scale
The final evaluation of learning outcomes at the University is carried out on a single 100-point scale. The minimum positive level of assessment is 60 points. According to the results of exams, according to the results of course and diploma works (projects); based on the results of work in practice, the student is also graded on a 4-point scale: “Excellent”, “Good”, “Satisfactory”, “Unsatisfactory”. If the final exam is not conducted in the disciplines, the results of the applicant’s work are evaluated on a 2-point scale: “Passed” or “Fail”. Specific measures and the scheme of formation of the assessment are outlined in the work programs of the academic disciplines and correspond to the principles of the assessment policy of "Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv" and academic integrity of the "Code of Ethical Conduct of the University Community".

Work placement
Educational program requires compulsory communication and translation internships in Chinese and English. Places of internship: Center for Chinese Literature and Chinese Language Teaching; Confucius Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; and in accordance in accordance with annual agreements with general secondary education institutions.

Bachelor in Philology can work in the scientific, litrerary, publishing and educational fields; in print and electronic media, advertising and PR spheres; in various foundations, including humanitarian ones, unions, museums, art and cultural centres, etc. The knowledge of the Chinese and English languages provides employment opportunities in various sectors of the economy that require services in translation, communication facilitation and text production in the given languages, as well as in travel agencies and international organisations.
