Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the disciplines: "Chinese language", "History of foreign literature (classical literatures of the East)", "Linguistic and Country Studies", "Chinese theater as a translator of culture", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies) and cultural studies; 3) possession of the practice of translating a Chinese-language text, skills in literary and cultural analysis of original works.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to attract students-orientalists to the literary and aesthetic values of the East; familiarization with the peculiarities of the cinematic process in China and their practical ability to analyze multi-genre feature films; acquaintance of students with the main directions of development of Chinese cinema as one of the most important forms of cultural and mass consciousness; acquaintance of students with the most outstanding works of cinema art of China of the XX and XXI centuries; study of theoretical directions of understanding cinema in the context of theories of mass culture, popular culture, aesthetics, psychoanalysis, cultural criticism, feminism, as well as social and cultural history. The course involves viewing, analyzing and discussing certain films representing historical genres of cinema (which developed during the development of cinema in China) and their rethinking in contemporary cinema. It belongs to the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguoculturology and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: lectures and practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: the answer in a practical lesson, a report-analysis of scientific literature and lexicographic sources, tests with open answers, project work with Internet resources. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. The discipline ends with getting the credit, which is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
