Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of courses: Eastern language (basic, intermediate, advanced, functional levels), Oral and ancient oriental literature, Medieval oriental literature, Linguistic and Country Studies of the Eastern language, Literature of the Ancient East: patterns of formation and development, History of Ancient literature.
2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, literary studies, cultural studies.
3. Possession of skills in literary and cultural analysis of original works.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to introduce students-orientalists to the literary values of the East, to study the semantic organization of works of art – representatives of the main directions and styles of Chinese literature of the twentieth century; education of students' practical ability to perform the analysis of multi-genre works in order to isolate meaningful and conceptual information.The main task associated with the development of a cognitive-conceptual approach to the study of works of art is the study of factual material on specific examples of the literary heritage of China of the twentieth century. The discipline belongs to the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguocultural Studies and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: answers in a practical lesson, modular tests with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points.Final assessment: exam conducted in the form of written work; 1 theoretical question with open answers, which is estimated at 10 points (10%), 1 practical task (conceptual analysis of a passage of Chinese-language artistic text), which is estimated at 30 points (30%). The criteria for semester assessment and evaluation criteria for the exam are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
