Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of disciplines (after three years of study): "Chinese language", "Introduction to Eastern philology", "Theory and practice of translation", "Fundamentals of linguocultural studies", "Linguistic and Country Studies", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies) and cultural studies; 3) possession of the practice of translating a Chinese text and skills in cultural analysis of original works; 4) the ability to carry out etymological analysis of the hieroglyph.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with a new direction in linguistics of the XXI century. — linguocognitology and its projection on translation studies. It is the linguocognitive approach to language learning that makes it possible to explain the nature of language phenomena associated with the mechanism of language generation, to explain the connection between language and thinking, to consider the activities of the translator in a new light. Module 1 is aimed at familiarizing yourself with the achievements of cognitive science in linguistics, and Module 2 is aimed at studying concepts and categories as units of translation from Chinese. The discipline belongs to the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguocultural Studies and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: lectures and practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: search and abstract work, oral surveys, modular tests, research work (presentations, reports), creative projects (presentations). Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. The discipline ends with a getting the credit, which is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
