Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of courses: "Eastern language: intermediate level" (in particular, proper mastery of lexical and grammatical material studied in the second year and mastery of basic skills of language and speech competence). 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, phonetics of modern Chinese; 3. Proficiency in lexical base that meets the requirements of the course "Eastern language: intermediate level"; 4. Ability to converse in Chinese, which meets the requirements of the course "Eastern language: intermediate level".
Course content
The discipline provides a multifaceted study of the educational material, which is the most balanced not only in the lexical and grammatical, but also in the stylistic plane. The discipline contains the following components: listening; conversational practice; reading (aloud) the main texts with their subsequent lexical and grammatical analysis and reading additional material with subsequent translation; mastery of characters (about 2000), which are related to the material considered; writing works on the proposed subject, as well as consideration of the peculiarities of the translation of different types of texts (journalistic, scientific, technical, artistic), etc. The discipline "Eastern language: Advanced Level" (Part 3) is one of the obligatory components of the complex discipline "Practical Course in the First Oriental Language", which is logically continued by the discipline "Eastern language: Functional Level" (Part 4).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training activities during the semester: practical classes conducted with the use of interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: writing lexical dictations, writing works, listening, speaking (oral topic), answering a practical lesson, test work with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. The minimum score for the semester is 36 points, while the maximum score equals 60. Final assessment: exam. The exam is conducted in the form of written work with open answers to two practical tasks (each of which is evaluated by a maximum of 15 points) and an oral answer to a conversational topic (max. 10 points). Criteria for semester and exam assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
