Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the courses "Chinese language: basic level", "Introduction to University studies", etc.;
2) knowledge of the basics of linguistic and historical-cultural analysis;
3) proficiency in basic skills of historical and linguistic analysis.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline "Chinese linguistic and cultural studies" - to acquaint students with the most important stages of historical and cultural development of the country. Regional realities that convey the peculiarities of culture, life, customs, etiquette are an integral part of the general vocabulary of the Chinese language. The study of this discipline should provide the student with basic linguistic and regional knowledge and the ability to use cultural-specific materials. The discipline "Chinese linguistic and cultural studies" is part of the complex discipline "Historical and REgional Studies", which consists of two parts: Part 1. Ukraine and the East: historical ties. Part 2. Chinese linguistic and cultural studies.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom activities, answers during seminars, researche papers, presentations, module tests with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. Criteria for semester assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
