Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the disciplines: "Chinese language", "History of foreign literature (classical literatures of the East)", "Linguistic and Country Studies", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies) and cultural studies; 3) possession of the practice of translating a Chinese-language text, skills in literary and cultural analysis of original works.
Course content
The purpose of this course is to get acquainted with the results of modern oriental and interdisciplinary research related to the problems of religious and philosophical traditions of China, namely: the study of the main features and trends in the development of religious traditions, philosophical and socio-political thought in China; mastering basic terminology in the field of the history of religion and the history of philosophy;formation of skills in working with sources on the history of religion and the history of philosophy; familiarization with the peculiarities of the spiritual and humanitarian development of China. The discipline belongs to the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguocultural Studies and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: answers at the seminar lesson, presentations, modular tests with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 60 points, in the minimum dimension 36 points.Final assessment: an exam conducted in the form of a written test paper with open and suggestive answers, which are collectively evaluated with a maximum of 40 points (the assessment of each individual question depends on the degree of complexity). The criteria for semester assessment and evaluation criteria for the exam are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
