Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. language competence, including knowledge of the system and structure of the language and the rules of its functioning in the process of communication in Chinese, the ability to use means and use the rules by which language units form statements; 2. have knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation studies; 3. know the grammar of Chinese and Ukrainian languages; 4. have the necessary lexical stock; 5. ability to carry out adequate and equivalent translation of heterostal and multi-genre texts; determine the necessary and sufficient methods of translation and adequately translate units of different language levels; translate and comment on material of different styles using the main types of professional two-way translation.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to develop and improve the students' language and translation competence in accordance with their specialty, provides for the achievement by future specialists of such a level of translation competence, which will provide them with the opportunity to professionally carry out translation activities in various types of translation ore and written forms. The program of the course "Translation of Chinese Scientific Speech" is aimed at acquiring students' skills in translating written and oral from and into Chinese at the average language level of the texts of scientific discourse. The discipline is one of the selective disciplines of the specialty "Philology (Oriental languages and literatures (translation inclusive), the first is Chinese)" under the program "Chinese Language and Literature and Translation, English" of the selective block "Chinese Studies: Linguistics and Translation".

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: prctic classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: the answer to practical classes, practical tasks, modular control work. Detailed planned educational events and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. Semester number of points are formed by points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 60 points, in the minimum dimension of 36 points. The discipline ends with an exam, which is carried out in the form of written work, the examination ticket consists of four tasks. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
