Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the courses "Eastern language: advanced level", "Lexicology of the first eastern language", "Formation of the Chinese language", "Theoretical aspects of the syntax of the Chinese language", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philological science (linguistics and literary studies); 3) skills of theoretical analysis of the studied material.
Course content
The purpose of the course is to provide Chinese students with introductory information on the main theoretical aspects of Chinese grammar, as well as in-depth knowledge of the practical application of grammatical phenomena of modern Chinese. The discipline "Theoretical Grammar of the First Oriental Language" is one of the obligatory components of the complex discipline "General Theoretical Course of Chinese Language" (Part 2), which logically continues the discipline "Lexicology of the First Eastern Language" (Part 1).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: answers during seminar, individual tasks, module tests. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. The minimum score for the semester is 36 points, while the maximum score equals 60. Final assessment: exam. The exam is conducted in the form of a written work, an examination ticket has three tasks: 1 theoretical question with an open answer, which is evaluated with a maximum of 10 points; 2 practical tasks, each of which is evaluated with a maximum of 15 points.
