Attestation of higher education seekers is carried out in the form of a public defense of a bachelor's qualification work and a comprehensive exam in "Сhemistry" and ends with the issuance of a standart document on awarding them a degree of higher education with the assignment of an educational qualification: "Bachelor of Chemistry".
Programme learning outcomes
Р01. Knowledge to understand key chemical concepts, essential facts, concepts, principles, and theories relating to natural sciences, life and earth sciences, as well as chemical technologies at a level sufficient for professional application and to enable further deep understanding of specialized fields of chemistry. Р02. Knowledge to understand the basics of mathematics at a level sufficient to achieve other learning outcomes provided by this guideline and educational program. Р03. Skill to describe chemical data in symbolic form. Р04. Knowledge to understand basic patterns and types of chemical reactions as well as their characteristics. Р05. Knowledge to understand the relationship between structure and properties of substances. Р06. Knowledge to understand the periodic law and the periodic table of elements, to describe, explain and predict properties of chemical elements and compounds based on them. Р07. Skill to apply basic principles of quantum mechanics to describe the structure of atoms, molecules, and chemical bonds. Р08. To know principles and procedures of physical, chemical, physicochemical research methods, typical equipment, and instruments. Р09. Skill to plan and perform a chemical experiment, to apply suitable methods and techniques for preparation of solutions and reagents. Р10. Skill to apply basic principles of thermodynamics and chemical kinetics to solve professional tasks. Р11. Skill to describe properties of aliphatic, aromatic, heterocyclic, and organometallic compounds, to explain nature and behavior of functional groups in organic molecules. Р12. To know main synthesis pathways in organic chemistry, including f interconversion of functional group and formation of carbon-carbon, carbon-heteroatom bonds. Р13. Skill to analyze and evaluate data, to synthesize new ideas concerning chemistry and its applications. Р14. Skill to perform experimental work to test hypotheses and investigation of chemical phenomena and regularities. Р15. Ability to use acquired knowledge and skills for calculation, displaying, and modeling of chemical systems and processes, as well as the processing of experimental data. Р16. Skill to perform computer calculations related to chemical problems by using standard and special software, abilities to analyse and display results. Р17. Ability to work individually or in a group, to obtain results within a limited time with an emphasis on professional honesty and scientific integrity. Р18. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of main facts, concepts, principles, and theories in chemistry. Р19. Skill to use your knowledge, understanding, competencies, and basic engineering skills to solve practical tasks and problems of nature. Р20. Skill to interpret the experimental data and to correlate this data with corresponding theories in chemistry. Р21. Ability to monitor and analyze scientific sources of information and professional literature. Р22. Ability to discuss problems of chemistry and its applications in state and foreign languages with colleagues and target audience. Р23. Examination regulations and grading scale
Oral and written exams, credit tests, differentiated tests, presentations, essays, tests, current control, defense of practices a comprehensive state exam in chemistry, defense of a bachelor's qualification work. The evaluation is based on a 100-point scale: "Excellent" 90 - 100; "Good" 75 - 89; "Satisfactory" 60 - 74; "Unsatisfactory" 0 - 59.
