Course content
The course ""Organic reagents in analytical chemistry" is dedicated to familiarizing students with the theoretical foundations and practical application of organic reagents in chemical and physicochemical methods of analysis. In the course, the main attention is devoted to the properties of organic analytical reagents, as well as the interaction of reagents of different types with inorganic analytes in order to obtain analytical forms for the determination of microcomponents of inorganic and organic nature in the presence of complex ones.
Special attention is paid to the theory of the action of organic analytical reagents, the creation of conditions for the selective determination of one analyte in the presence of another, the use of organic reagents in titrometry and molecular spectroscopy methods, as well as the question of the correct choice of an organic reagent to achieve the goal of the analysis.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
1. K. Lu Cheng, K. Ueno, T. Imamura Handbook of Organic Analytical Reagents – CRC, 2019, P.615.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out on a 100-point system. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 100 points / 60 points. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The modular control includes 2 meaningful modules and a comprehensive final module (test).
