Learning outcomes
Р01. Knowledge to understand key chemical concepts, essential facts, concepts, principles, and theories relating to natural sciences, life and earth sciences, as well as chemical technologies at a level sufficient for professional application and to enable further deep understanding of specialized fields of chemistry. Р04. Knowledge to understand basic patterns and types of chemical reactions as well as their characteristics. Р06. Knowledge to understand the periodic law and the periodic table of elements, to describe, explain and predict properties of chemical elements and compounds based on them. Р17. Ability to work individually or in a group, to obtain results within a limited time with an emphasis on professional honesty and scientific integrity. Р20. Skill to interpret the experimental data and to correlate this data with corresponding theories in chemistry.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students must know the basics of ecology, biology and geography (from the high school course), be able to recognize the manifestations of anthropogenic influence on the natural environment, possess elementary skills of ecological culture
Course content
During the study of this discipline chemistry students get acquainted with the structure, tasks and laws of modern ecology, gain basic knowledge of various sections of general ecology, study ways, scales and patterns of destructive impact of modern civilization on the biosphere, understand the existing global and environmental problems of Ukraine. with the main directions of human activity to overcome the manifestations of the global environmental crisis on the path to sustainable development.
