Understand chemical concepts, basic facts, concepts, principles, and theories relating to the natural and life and earth sciences, and chemical technology at a level sufficient to apply them professionally and to enable further in-depth understanding of specialized areas of chemistry. P02. Understand the fundamentals of mathematics at a level sufficient to achieve the other learning outcomes of this standard and the educational program. P03.Describe chemical data in symbolic form. P13. Analyze and evaluate data and synthesize new ideas about chemistry and its applications. P15. Ability to use acquired knowledge and skills to calculate, display and simulate chemical systems and processes, processing of experimental data. P20. Interpret experimentally obtained data and relate them to relevant theories in chemistry. P23. Competently present the results of their research in written form in the national and foreign languages, taking into account the purposes of communication.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Have a basic knowledge of university courses in higher mathematics (integration, differentiation) as well as the basics of general chemistry at the undergraduate level.
Course content
The course Statistical Methods in Chemistry is structured so that students understand in detail the algorithms of calculations when performing laboratory work in different chemistry courses. The course "Statistical Methods in Chemistry" studies rational methods and approaches to the statistical processing of data obtained during laboratory works on fundamental courses (physical chemistry, analytical and CMC chemistry), the MOC method for various functional dependencies is thoroughly dismantled, the capabilities of the method during work in Origin program are shown, the rules of experimental results design are considered, the experiment in terms of the "Theory of Errors" is considered. The basic discipline Statistical Methods in Chemistry is an important stage in preparing students for the work in the chemical workshop and is necessary for the formation of a coherent system of views, which includes the processing of experimental data obtained.
