Prerequisites and co-requisites
Theoretical training provided to the student by general courses "Chemistry of macromolecular compounds", "Physical chemistry", "Analytical chemistry" is required.
Course content
Acquainting students with the principles and methods of identification of monomers and polymers; showing qualitative differences in the identification schemes of low molecular weight substances, on the one hand, and polymers (oligomers) - on the other, as well as differences in the identification of synthetic and natural polymers, homo- and copolymers; determination of basic schemes for identification of homo- and copolymers. Demonstration of the basic methods of purification of monomers and synthetic polymers obtained in one way or another; coverage of environmental aspects of polymer purification.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester control includes homework, tests and defense of practical work. The evaluation is based on a 100-point system. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 60 points / 36 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student in the exam is 40 points / 24 points.
