Skill to apply basic principles of quantum mechanics to describe the structure of atoms, molecules, and chem. bonds. Р11. Skill to describe aliphatic, aromatic, heterocyclic, and organometallic compounds, to explain nature and behavior of functional groups in org. molecules. Р12. To know main synthesis pathways in org. chemistry, including f interconversion of functional group and formation of С-С, С-heteroatom bonds. Р15. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic concepts of organic chemistry at the level of secondary school graduates. 2. Be able to write the formulas of organic compounds at the level of a graduate of secondary school. 3. To have basic skills of writing organic reactions at the level of a secondary school graduate. 4. Have basic knowledge of general chemistry. 5. Have basic skills of the simplest operations in a chemical laboratory.
Course content
Basic concepts of organic chemistry of aromatic and heterocyclic compounds. Electronic organization, structure and reactivity of aromatic and heterocyclic organic compounds; application of physical and physicochemical research methods in organic chemistry of aromatic and heterocyclic compounds. Methods of synthesis, mechanisms of transformations and properties of basic classes of aromatic and heterocyclic organic compounds. The most important sources of information about aromatic and heterocyclic organic compounds and their reactions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester control includes homework, tests and laboratory works. The evaluation is based on a 100-point scale. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student during the semester assessment is 60 points / 36 points. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum / minimum number of points that can be obtained by a student in the exam is 40 points / 24 points.
