Standard Admission Requirements

Availability of educational qualification level "Bachelor"

LO1. To solve complex problems and issues that require updating and integration of knowledge in the context of incomplete / insufficient information and conflicting requirements. LO2. To evaluate critically the results of scientific research and various sources of knowledge about social work practices, formulate conclusions and recommendations for their implementation. LO3. To use foreign sources in performing tasks of research and applied activities, speak in a foreign language, both orally and in writing. LO4. To show in-depth knowledge and systematic understanding of theoretical concepts, both in the field of social work and in other fields of socio-humanities. LO5. To collect and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of empirical data. LO6. To find independently and autonomously the information necessary for professional growth, master it, acquire and produce new knowledge, develop professional skills and qualities. LO7. To use general and specialized software to solve professional problems and carry out scientific research. LО8. To make decisions autonomously in difficult and unpredictable situations. LO9. To perform reflective practices in the context of the values of social work, responsibility, including to prevent burnout. LO10. To analyze the social and individual context of the problems of the individual, family, social group, community, formulate the purpose and objectives of social work, plan interventions in complex and unpredictable circumstances in accordance with the values of social work. LO11. To organize joint activities of specialists in various fields and non-professionals, prepare them for social work, initiate team building and coordinate teamwork. LO12. To assess the social consequences of policies in the field of human rights, social inclusion and sustainable development of society, develop recommendations for improving the legal framework for social work. LO13. To demonstrate initiative, independence, originality, generate new ideas for solving professional problems. LO14. To determine the methodology of applied research and apply methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of results, including methods of mathematical statistics. LO15. To develop criteria and indicators of professional efficiency, apply them in the evaluation of work performed, offer recommendations for quality assurance of social services and management decisions. LO16. To develop social projects at a highly professional level. LO17. To build independently and maintain purposeful, professional relationships with a wide range of people, representatives of various communities and organizations, argue, persuade, conduct constructive negotiations, productive conversations, discussions, be tolerant of alternative opinions. LO18. To evaluate critically the results of scientific research and search for the necessary scientific information in the social sphere. LO19. Demonstrate a positive attitude towards one's profession and comply with ethical principles and standards of social work. LO20. To summarize the results of their own research and publish them in the form of scientific reports (abstracts, articles, reports, etc.).

Full-time form

Written and oral exams, seminars, practical classes, modular tests; tests, differentiated tests, projects, presentations and reports with assessment of achievements, defense of qualifying master's theses.

Under the EU's Erasmus + program, on the basis of bilateral agreements between Taras Shevchenko National University and higher education institutions of partner countries, University of Klaipeda, Lithuania - Permanent Agreement dated 17.12.2014, № 4-263; Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Poland - Permanent Agreement of 2001, and Piotrkow Tribunal Branch - Perpetual Agreement of 06.06.2006, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland - Cooperation Agreement with the Institute of Family and Social Work from 08.08.2019; Higher School of Linguistics, Czestochowa, Poland - Agreement for the period 2017-2022, on the extension of validity, from 22.11.2017, double diploma. Academic mobility is regulated by the Regulations on the Procedure for Exercising the Right to Academic Mobility of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv of June 29, 2016.

Assistant and research internships are obligatory (on the basis of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine; Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; in the centers of social services for families, children and youth; in public organizations; children's health camps; general secondary education institutions etc); participation in the organization and conduct of summer and winter schools; scientific and applied research in qualifying master's theses. The program is focused on applied and research training of social workers.

Areas of professional activity are: jobs in socially oriented institutions, enterprises, organizations (charitable, public, research), public, municipal and private institutions, international funds; in educational and socio-pedagogical institutions under the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Health (positions: social pedagogue; social work specialist; inspector of child protection; specialist of the center of social services for families, children and youth, social educator to work with children with disabilities, a specialist in social services, etc.); work in the specialty in educational institutions; in the field of social services; penitentiary institutions; organizations of social protection and provision of social services, health care, education, culture, etc.

Further education at the third level is possible, as well as advanced training and additional postgraduate education.
