LO13. To demonstrate initiative, independence, originality, generate new ideas for solving professional problems. LO16. To develop social projects at a highly professional level. LO17. To build independently and maintain purposeful, professional relationships with a wide range of people, representatives of various communities and organizations, argue, persuade, conduct constructive negotiations, productive conversations, discussions, be tolerant of alternative opinions.

Full-time form

The student must know: the basics of social psychology, psychology of organizations, sociology, ethics, cultural studies; the main activity directions and functions of social educators. The student must be able to seek and critically evaluate professional information. The student must have basic skills: public communication, activity planning, performance evaluation. 

The discipline aims to form students' professional knowledge about the nature of public relations, their role in the social sphere, the laws, and rules of communication between the organization and the public and acquaintance with the specifics of PR activities in the field of social work. The discipline is designed to deepen the understanding of the specifics of communication in the organization and mass communication in the activities of a social educator, to develop public relations skills and expand the repertoire of communication tools and technologies. The discipline contains two content modules. The first module reveals approaches to understanding the concept of public relations and defines the place of PR in the professional activities of a social worker. The second module is devoted purely to applied issues – the use of PR technologies in the social sphere.

Lecture, seminar, Individual work. discussion, practical (individual and group) tasks, modular test.

Tests, discussions – 20 scores (2-4 scores); creative research works – practical tasks on the analysis of the information environment and evaluation of PR-activities of social organizations, examples of PR-campaigns, social advertising – 20 scores; self-assessment – 20 scores; modular tests – practical tasks (development of a communicative campaign, selection of appropriate tools and forms for the implementation of the goals and objectives of the communicative campaign) – 40 scores. The test is passed based on the results of the student's work during the semester. To pass the test it is obligatory to complete modular tests and obtain a total of at least 60 scores. Grading scheme: - Passed (60-100 scores) - Fail (0-59 scores)
