The professional qualification is awarded on the condition of: 1) successful defense of the master's thesis (not less than 80 points); 2) an average success score of not less than 80 points; 3) successful completion of a final assessment in German (not less than 80 points); 4) successful completion of a final exam in English; 5) successful completion of the research internship (not less than 80 points (for more details, see the description of item 3).
Programme learning outcomes
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 7. To analyze, compare and classify different trends and schools in Linguistics. PLO 8. To assess the historical legacy and new achievements of Literature Studies. PLO 9. To characterize theoretical principles (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen linguistic specialization. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 11. To carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles. PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in a chosen linguistic field to solve complex tasks and issues, which require updates and integration of knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or lacking information and contradictory requirements. PLO 17. To plan, organize, perform and present research and / or innovative developments in a specific linguistic field. Within the elective block "Linguistic Theory and Teaching Methodology in Higher Education," the following program learning outcomes are acquired:
PLO 19.1: To develop and improve educational programs for disciplines specializing in German language and literature (including translation), as well as develop educational and methodological materials.
PLO 20.1: To conduct educational sessions, provide consultations to students in disciplines specializing in German language and literature (including translation), and provide individual support to students (supervision, mentoring) during their studies, applying modern innovative teaching methods and technologies in higher education.

Examination regulations and grading scale
The final assessment of graduates is conducted in the following forms:
1. Public and open defense of the master's thesis.
2. Completion of a comprehensive final exam in intercultural German studies (German language).
3. Completion of a final exam in English language.
The thesis is allowed for defense only after being checked for plagiarism. Evaluation is done on a 100-point scale based on the total number of points obtained from the feedback of the academic supervisor, review by a scientific reviewer, and the public defense.

90-100 points: 5 (excellent) - A
75-89 points: 4 (good):
85-89 points: B
75-84 points: C
60-74 points: 3 (satisfactory):
65-74 points: D
60-64 points: E
1-59 points: 2 (unsatisfactory)
Further assessment criteria are specified in the respective programs. During examination and evaluation, the principles of academic integrity, objectivity, transparency and impartiality are followed.

Work placement
The education program includes mandatory completion of research internship in German language. The elective blocks, "Linguistic Theory and Teaching Methodology in Higher Education" and "Applied Linguistics," involve a teaching internship at the university and internship in applied linguistics. Professional qualifications are awarded upon completion of these internships.

Master of Philology (translation included) can work in academic institutions, publishing houses, educational establishments; in mass-media; in PR-agencies; in various foundations, unions, humanitarian organisations, museums, art and cultural centres, etc.; in various sectors that need translation services and the creation, analysis, evaluation of texts, and provision of services of linguistic and translation expertise.
Access to further studies
Graduates have the right to continue their studies at the third level of higher education and obtain additional qualifications in the postgraduate education system.
