Bachelor's degree in specialty 035 Philology and other related specialties on condition of passing an additional exam.
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements
Defence of the master's qualification work. Passing a complex final exam in Japanese language and literature and translation; Final exam in English. A separate decision of the examination committee may be awarded a professional qualification: 1) 2310.2 – teacher of a higher education institution (Japanese and/or English and/or Korean); 2) 2444.2 – translator (Japanese and/or English); 3) 2444.1 – junior researcher (philology) under the conditions specified in the description.

PLO 2. Confidently know the state and foreign languages for the realization of written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present the results of research in the state and foreign languages.
PLO 3. Apply modern methodologies and technologies, including information technologies, for successful and effective professional activity and quality assurance of research in the field of Japanese philology.
PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres in the field of Japanese philology.
PLO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.
PLO 12. Follow the rules of academic integrity.
PLO 13. Accessibly and reasonably explain the essence of specific philological issues, their own point of view on them and its justification to both specialists and the general public, including students.
PLO 14. Create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres.
PLO 20. Apply the acquired knowledge, formed skills and abilities of translation for oral and written translation of texts of different genres and styles from Japanese and English into Ukrainian and vice versa.
PLO 21. Proficiency in a second oriental language at the level of professional and everyday communication.

Masters of Philology with knowledge of Eastern and Western European languages can work in the scientific, literary and publishing, educational fields; on teaching, scientific and research, administrative positions in higher education institutions; in print and electronic mass media, PR-technologies, in various foundations, unions, foundations of humanitarian orientation, museums, libraries and archives, art and cultural centres, etc. In addition, the knowledge of Eastern and Western European languages makes it possible to employ masters of philology in various sectors of the economy, where translation and text creation services in Eastern and Western European languages are required, as well as in travel agencies, international organizations, foreign missions, diplomatic and consular services, regional offices, etc.
