Prerequisites and co-requisites
• successful mastering of the disciplines "Oriental language (higher level)", "Methods of Oriental language teaching in secondary specialized school of III degree"; • knowledge of theoretical foundations of Oriental languages teaching methods in higher education and related pedagogical disciplines; • knowledge of the laws of the educational process in foreign language classes in higher education institutions.
Course content
"Methods of teaching Eastern languages in higher education" is a professional discipline for students studying on specialty 035.069 "Eastern languages and literatures (translation), the first - Japanese", is taught in the 1st semester, volume of discipline - 3 credits, 30 academic hours (14 hours - lectures, 14 hours - seminars, 60 hours - independent work), the form of control - exam. The main purposes of the discipline are to familiarize students with the main components of the theory of modern foreign language teaching and, on this basis, to teach them how to use theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems, to present current trends in foreign language teaching both in our country and abroad; to reveal the essence of the components and tools of modern methodology as a science. Independent work of students includes individual study of special literature.

Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is conducted in the form of a complex exam: • the maximum number of points in the exam – 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive mark), which are added to the semester points – 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam); • the exam is conducted in the form of written work, the exam paper consists of two tasks: 2 theoretical questions, each of which is evaluated with a maximum of 20 points.
