Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) possessing skills of analytical, exploratory and research work; 2) fluency in Japanese and Ukrainian; 3) successful completion of disciplines OK.06 "Japanese for Professional Communication" and OK.07 "Modern Japanese Literature" in the field of study "Oriental Philology, Western European Language and Translation: Japanese Language and Literature".
Course content
1. Discipline VB 2.06 "Linguistic, Cultural and Literary Relations of Japan and Western Countries" from the elective block "Japanese Studies" is taught in the third semester and consists of 4 credits, 120 hours (20 lectures, 20 seminars and 80 hours of independent work). The form of final control is a test. The course is designed to broaden students' understanding of the history of international relations and the peculiarities of intercultural communication between the Japanese and Western countries in different historical and cultural periods, from the first contacts through European traders and missionaries up to the Reiwa period. The use of historical, cultural, and artistic materials in Japanese contributes to a deeper understanding of the impact of Japan's cultural dialogue with the West on the way of life and worldview, language and literature of its people.

Blitz survey: 2 points - student (S) answers the questions quickly and correctly; 1 point - S does not demonstrate the depth of knowledge; 0 points - S cannot answer the question. Oral response, participation in discussions at lectures and seminars: 5 points - S has full knowledge of the educational material, freely and reasonably presents it; 4 points - S has a sufficient knowledge of the educational material; minor inaccuracies are allowed; 3 points - S does not demonstrate the depth of knowledge, has significant inaccuracies in the answer; 2-1 points - S does not fully master the material, has significant errors in the answer Module test: Test part - 15 points Open questions - 5 points Project. 10 points - S independently, qualitatively and timely completed the task and prepared a presentation 9-6 points - S made minor mistakes 5-0 points - S has completed the task in the amount of 50% or less The final assessment is conducted as a credit (passed/not passed)
