Bachelor degree in the specialty 035-Philology. Bachelor degree in other specialties on condition of an additional exam in linguistic and cultural studies passing.

A professional qualification: 2310.2 – teacher of a higher educational institution (classical languages and/or English) may be assigned by a special decision of the examination commission. Detailed requirements for the assignment of professional qualifications are given in the Description of the ЕP.

PLO (Program learning outcomes) 1. To evaluate one's own educational, scientific and professional activities, to build and to implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 2. To be confident using state language as well as English and classical languages for written and oral communication, in situations of professional and scientific communication, inter alia; to present research results in state, English and classical languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and technologies, particularly information technologies, for the successful and effective implementation of professional activities and ensuring the research quality in a specific philological field. PLO 4. To evaluate and to critically analyze the most socially, personally and professionally significant problems, to propose ways to solve them in difficult and unpredictable circumstances, which requires the use of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 5. To get optimal ways of effective interaction in the professional team and with members of other professional groups of different levels. PLO 6. To apply knowledge about expressive, emotional, logical language means and speech technique for the planned pragmatic result achieving and for the successful communication organizing. PLO 7. To analyze, to compare and to classify different trends and schools in linguistics. PLO 8. To evaluate the historical heritage and the latest achievements in literary studies PLO 9. To characterize the theoretical background (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen philological specialization. PLO 10. To сollect and to systematize linguistic, literary, folklore facts, to interpret and to translate texts of various styles and genres in classical and English languages. PLO 11. To carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, to interpret and to structurize it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, to formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 12. To adhere to the rules of academic integrity.

Full-time form

In accordance with the requirements of the European credit transfer and accumulation system, the final study results assessment is carried out on a common 100-point scale. The criterion for a successful assessment of student is the student's achievement of the minimum threshold levels for each planned learning outcome of the educational component and the minimum threshold level of assessment for the educational component in general. Compliance scale: Throughout the all forms of reporting, students must adhere to the norms of academic integrity formulated in the Code of Ethics of the university community Forms of control: oral and written interrogation, testing, current control, oral and written exams, tests, differential tests, final control, defense of master's thesis.

The part-time practice period as an assistant is mandatory.

A master of philology is able to work in scientific, literary-publishing, educational fields; in teaching, research and administrative positions in institutions of higher education; in printed and electronic media, PR technologies, Internet marketing, in various foundations, unions, humanitarian foundations, museums, art and cultural centers, etc., in various sectors of the economy, where texts creation, analysis, translation, evaluation services are needed.

The opportunity to continue education at the third (Doctor of philosophy) level of higher education in the humanitarian field of knowledge, as well as to improve qualifications and to receive additional postgraduate education.
