Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To be confident using state language as well as English and classical languages for written and oral communication, in situations of professional and scientific communication, inter alia; to present research results in state, English and classical languages.
PLO 4. To evaluate and to critically analyze the most socially, personally and professionally significant problems, to propose ways to solve them in difficult and unpredictable circumstances, which requires the use of new approaches and forecasting.
PLO 8. To evaluate the historical heritage and the latest achievements in literary studies
PLO 11. To carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, to interpret and to structurize it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, to formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
a) integration of courses Introduction to Literary Studies,Theory of Literature,
Classical Languages and Literatures, as well as Psychology and Logic;
b) knowledge of general information about the principles of methodological strategies;
c) basic skills in writing qualification paper.
Course content
Objectives of the discipline: the discipline Methodology of Literary Research is a
component of the educational and professional programme in training specialists of Masters
degree in classical languages and literature. It is aimed at giving an idea of writing
qualification paper. Annotation of the discipline. The course Methodology of Literary
Research is an important discipline of the professional program Classical Languages and
Literatures" in the preparation and writing of theses on the history and theory of classical
languages and literatures, the selection and application of appropriate methods of analysis of
literary, theoretical, linguistic texts, their adequate interpretation. The discipline
Methodology of Literary Research is studied during one semester, provides the
development of Masters; competence in research process: collecting materials and
resources, their processing, systematization and conceptualization, including the culture of
their composition.

Lectures, independent work. Oral answers, expanded answers, participation in discussion,
open-ended questions.
Assessment methods and criteria
Final assessment:credit test.The scores for the semester comprise the points for the
mastering of the materials for the entire course. The total score for the semester consists of
the points for the classwork (which provides for independent work with the theoretical
materials for the classwork: oral answers, expanded answers, participation in discussions).
All types of activities for the semester are estimated as follows:
100 points maximum,
60 points minimum.
Final score for the discipline (100 points maximum) is defined as the sum of points
for activities during the semester and final test. Credit test comprises the student’s results
during the semester and does not include extra forms of assessement.
