Learning outcomes
PRL 6. To apply the knowledge of expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech technique, to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize a successful communication. PRL 9. To characterize the theoretical basics (concepts, categories, principles, essential notions) and applied aspects of the chosen philological specialty. PRL 11. To perform the analysis of the language, speech and literary materials, to interpret and structuralize them by the appropriate methodological principles, to generalize information based on the data received. PRL 13. To explain the main points of the specific philological issues in a clear way, to express the personal point of view and give the arguments for it to the academic community, to the public and the students as well.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before studying the discipline, students have to master the disciplines Methodology and organization of academic research with the basics of intellectual property, Methodology of literary research and Early Christian literature. Be able to work with various resources of educational and scientific information, to analyze it, make generalizations and conclusions about the cross-cultural features of mythological systems and archetypal structures of cultural elements. To have basic skills of doing research; comparative analysis; critical approach to the analyzed phenomena.
Course content
Objectives of the discipline – to contribute to the formation of a systemic knowledge about myth as one of the central phenomenon of culture; the role of archetypal structures in spiritual culture as a communicative system; the specifics of the existence, genesis and interactions of mythological systems and their influence on the development of ethnic cultures of different peoples of the world. The subject of the discipline is the study of mythological archetypal phenomena of archaic cultures and modern world. Learning objectives: to form a complex understanding of the role and significance of mythological patterns in the cultural and historical life of mankind and in modern Ukrainian culture as well for their professional activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course consists of two content parts. The first part of the course is called Myth and archetype, the second one is The phenomenon of myth in the socio-cultural life of mankind. Forms of training: lectures, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The learning of the discipline implies the integration of various methods and methodical means such as problematic, pertially-problematic, explanaroe and illustrative,euristic, integral (work in pairs). Final assessment: credit test. The scores for the semester comprise the points for the mastering of the materials for the entire course. The total score for the semester consists of the points for the classwork (which provides for independent work with the theoretical materials for the classwork: blitz poll, final test) and for independent work (digest, making tests on a particular topic, preparing presentations). All types of activities for the semester are estimated as follows: ● 100 points maximum, ● 60 points minimum. Final test: LR 1.1-1.3; LR 2.1., 2.4, 2.5; LR 3.1, LR 4.1-4.5 – 12/20 points.
