Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non- experts in Ukrainian, German and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of German literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 9. Characterize dialect and social varieties of German language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, German and English. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 16. Know and understand the basic theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or study. PLO 18. Have the skills to manage complex actions or projects when solving complex problems in professional activities in the field of the chosen philological specialization and bear responsibility for decision-making in unpredictable conditions. PLO 19. Have the skills to participate in scientific and/or applied research in the field of philology. Examination regulations and grading scale
Examinations (written, oral, mixed form, pass-fail), grading tests, presentations, abstracts, reports, certification (final) examination, defence of internship report, defence of qualification (master’s) paper. Scale of grades (examination): 90-100 – excellent; 75-89 – good; 60-74 – satisfactory; 35-59 - unsatisfactory. Scale of grades (pass-fail examination): 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed. Work placement
The curriculum includes mandatory completion of communicative-translation internship, internship in applied linguistics or pedagogical internship (in elective blocks). The internship is conducted at the Center for German Language and Culture of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the translation bureau "Admiral."

Occupational profiles of graduates
Graduates can perform the following professional tasks: working with two foreign languages, facilitating interlingual written and oral communication (in German and English), conducting translation and editing of texts in foreign and Ukrainian languages, providing written and oral translation services, teaching German language in general secondary education institutions, language courses, language schools, etc. (provided they choose the "Linguodidactics and Translation" block, which includes psychological-pedagogical and methodological disciplines and involves pedagogical practice). Graduates can work in scientific, literary, publishing and educational fields; in printed and electronic media, PR agencies; in various foundations, unions, humanitarian foundations, museums, art and cultural centers, etc.; in various branches of the economy, where services are required for the creation, analysis, translation, evaluation of texts in the positions of: philologist; translator; copywriter; editor; coordinator of international projects; manager of work with foreign clients; call center operator; administrator; literary employee; literary critic; head of the scientific group; tutor.
