Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of the discipline "Practical Course of German Language" (in the 1st-5th semesters), studying the courses "Theoretical Phonetics" (in the 4th semester), "Theoretical Grammar" (in the 5th semester), "Methodology of Teaching German Language and Fundamentals of Linguodidactics" (in the 5th semester), "Modern Pedagogical Technologies" (in the 5th semester).
Course content
"Pedagogical internship" deepens the knowledge gained by students during the study of psychological-pedagogical and methodological disciplines. It forms an understanding of the educational and methodological work and practical activities of a German language teacher, acquaints students with the peculiarities of organizing and planning the educational process for German language in general education institutions. "Pedagogical internship" is conducted in the VI semester, totaling 90 hours (3 credits), over a period of 6 weeks (30 days) without interruption from theoretical studies. The form of final assessment is a differentiated exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- Participation in meetings and organizational events at the university and school.
- Familiarization with the functions, purpose, objectives of pedagogical practice, criteria, and forms of assessment.
- Introduction to the classroom, study of the lesson plan, journal, class schedule, and other documents.
- Determination of the thematic focus and forms of educational activities.
- Familiarization with the equipment of classrooms / information and communication technologies used.
- Planning of students' educational and developmental work for the entire period of pedagogical practice, creating an individual work plan, schedule of attending teachers' lessons, and mutual visits by students; planning and conducting extracurricular activities (if possible).

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester (ongoing) assessment takes place during consultations. Internship supervisors regularly hold consultations with students, where they analyze the German language lessons conducted during internship and provide assistance in case of any problems.
The final assessment is carried out upon completion of the internship. Within the specified deadlines, the student submits the following documents to the internship supervisor from the department:
- A written report in any format, indicating the duration and location of the practice, tasks performed during the practice, personal remarks regarding the work done and the experience gained, as well as suggestions for the organization of future internship.
- Evaluation from the internship placement base.
- An extended plan-outline of a graded lesson.
- Schedule and thematic plan of conducted trial lessons.
- Schedule of classroom visits by teachers and student trainees.
