The curriculum is designed for students who have successfully mastered the theoretical and practical courses of the first language and practical courses of the second language, which were studied throughout the 4 semesters of the bachelor's degree program. Students should possess fundamental factual linguistic knowledge, be able to work with didactic and audio-visual materials, and have basic skills in verbal and intercultural communication.
Course content
The course is aimed at studying the language in the communicative register. The teaching is based on a methodological complex that includes carefully selected educational materials on Spanish phonetics and grammar. It incorporates elements of intensive learning. The educational materials include the use of audio-visual courses designed to develop communicative and speaking skills, as well as to train students to comprehend and reproduce foreign language audio texts in various forms. The lexical and grammatical material ensures the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary for oral communication in Spanish in situations related to everyday life, education, socio-cultural, and socio-political spheres, as well as for reading original works of literature with the use of a dictionary.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester grade is determined by the points obtained by the student throughout the course. The overall grade is composed of points earned for classroom work (oral responses, ongoing assessments, module assessments, written assignments) and for independent work (writing essays on assigned topics, processing audio-video materials). In case of absence from a practical session, the student is required to make up for the exercises and assignments covered during the session. The final assessment in the form of an exam takes place in the 5th and 6th semesters. The maximum number of points for the exam is 40, and the minimum number of points (a passing grade) added to the semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum points allocated for the exam).
