Course content
The practical training in Applied Linguistics of the Elective Block 1 "Linguistics and Third Language" is an optional component in the structural-logical scheme of the Bachelor's Degree Program in "German Philology and Translation, English Language" (2020).
During the internship, students develop practical skills in applying their professional knowledge and competencies acquired during four years of study to successfully accomplish the following tasks:
- Populating the linguistic corpus with textual material.
- Performing metatextual markup for parallel linguistic corpora.
- Aligning parallel texts by paragraphs and sentences.
To activate students' creative thinking, initiative, and ability to independently analyze and summarize their work, individual tasks (within the framework of a collective project or individual assignments) are assigned to the interns. The content of these tasks is agreed upon by the internship supervisor and the supervisor at the hosting institution. During the internship, individual tasks may be further specified and refined.
The duration of the internship is determined according to the curriculum of the educational program.
