After passing the final certification with a score of at least 75 points, a professional qualification is awarded: 1) "Research philologist"; 2) "Translator (Spanish)" with the set of elective disciplines "Language Contacts and Translation in the Spanish-speaking Area" or "Teacher of a higher education institution (Spanish)" with the set of elective disciplines "Communication practices in the Spanish-speaking space and methods of teaching foreign languages".
Programme learning outcomes
A complete list of study outcomes for the study programme is provided in the section "Programme Profile". Some of them are: PLO 1. To evaluate own educational, scientific and professional activities, build and implement an effective strategy for self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 2. To speak the state and foreign languages confidently for written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in the state and foreign languages. PLO 3. To apply modern methods and technologies, including information technologies, for the successful and effective professional activities and ensuring the quality of research in the field of Spanish linguistics and translation. PLO 4. Tp evaluate and analyse socially, personally and professionally significant problems and propose ways to solve them in complex and unpredictable conditions that require new approaches and forecasting. PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.

Examination regulations and grading scale
Exams, tests, differentiated tests, current control, certification (final) exams, defence of the master's thesis. Attestation of graduates is carried out in the form of public and open defence of the Master thesis (as a presentation with various forms of report visualization), passing final comprehensive exam in Spanish (consisting of 1 theoretical question on Modern Linguistics or Literature Theory, 1 questions on the Theory of Translation and oral spontaneous speech on a given topic) and the final exam in English (the second language). The main principles of assessment policy are regulated by the "Regulations on the organization of the educational process in T. Shevchenko KNU". To maintain academic integrity, participants in the educational process are guided by the norms of the "Code of Ethics of the University Community".

Work placement
Research practice involves participation in research projects and scientific publications. Assistantship involves giving lectures and practical classes in a higher education institution in accordance with the curriculum of the discipline. Translation practice involves interpreting and translating in accordance with the production needs of the practice base. The internships are held at the Embassies of Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the Centre for Spanish Language and Culture of the Educational and Research Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the Association of Hispanists of Ukraine, in print publishing houses, mass media, translation agencies, and international commercial organisations.

Occupational profiles of graduates
Graduates work in the scientific and educational fields; in teaching, research and administrative positions in higher education institutions; in print and electronic media, travel agencies, journalism, PR, humanitarian foundations and unions; they are engaged in translation and research activities, and are owners or employees of private translation and foreign language learning centres.
Access to further studies
