Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Prior to taking this course, students should know: the basic methods of linguistic research in accordance with the basic level of bachelor's degree. 2. To be able to explain the specifics of the main general scientific and specialised linguistic research methods provided for in the bachelor's course. 3. To possess basic skills to organise and carry out independent scientific research, observing the requirements for the preservation of intellectual property.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to form comprehensive knowledge of the methodology and organisation of scientific research, the use of methodological tools, terminology, taking into account the peculiarities of formulating a scientific problem and planning ways to solve it depending on the scientific paradigm. Annotation. The discipline is taught in the 2nd semester of the master's programme - in accordance with the curriculum. The subject of the discipline is the regularities of planning, organising and conducting scientific research using a set of research methods, conceptual and categorical apparatus depending on the scientific paradigm.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1. of WPED. The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures, the maximum score is 100 points. Students who have scored a minimum positive score of 60 points receive a "pass" grade. Students who do not score the minimum positive score of 60 points receive a "fail" grade. Students who have scored less than 60 points in total for the semester must pass the test by completing the material on the topics for which they have a debt in the form of independent and laboratory work, essays or, if necessary, write a test.
