Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To speak the state and foreign languages confidently for written and oral communication, in particular in situations of professional and scientific communication; present research results in the state and foreign languages.
PLO 8. To evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of literary studies.
PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization).
PLO 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should know the main stages and trends in the development of Spanish literature from antiquity to the twentieth century in the Western European cultural context (trends, movements, schools, styles, ideological and artistic concepts); have basic factual knowledge of the humanities.
Be able to determine the place of each literary and artistic period within the overall development of Spanish literature; characterise the specifics of a particular cultural and artistic period; analyse key works in the context of the work of a particular artist, identify and analyse plots, images, motifs of selected works, etc.
Course content
The subject of the discipline is the study of the main trends in the development and artistic features of modern Spanish-language literature (turn of the XX-XXI centuries) in the cultural context of Western Europe and Latin America. The course deepens the comprehensive training of Masters in Romance Languages and Literatures (translation included), which involves the formation of systematic knowledge of the peculiarities of the Spanish-language literary process within the specified period. In the course of the course, students learn a set of concepts related to the peculiarities of the modern Spanish-language literary process (trends, styles, genres, ideological and artistic concepts, etc.), as well as improve their skills of critical literary analysis and interpretation of textual material. The methodology of lectures and practical classes is determined by hermeneutical and cultural-historical principles of representation of artistic phenomena, and involves elements of intertextual and intermedial approaches.
