Graduates who have successfully defended a qualification project and passed a comprehensive exam are issued a standard document on the award of a Bachelor of Philology in specialization "Eastern Languages and Literatures (including translation), major - Japanese".

PLO 1. To communicate fluently on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign (Japanese and English) languages orally and in writing, using the language knowledge for the effective intercultural communication. PLO 2. To process information effectively: to locate it in various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, to critically analyse it, interpret, organise, classify and systematise. PLO 3. To organise the process of learning and self-education. PLO 4. To understand the fundamentals of human being, nature, and society functioning. PLO 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 6. To use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialised issues and problems in the field of professional activity. PLO 7. To understand the main philological issues and the ways to solve them by using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. To know and comprehend the language system, general features of literature as an art of speech, and history of the Japanese language and literature, to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activity. PLO 9. To describe the dialect and social varieties of the Japanese language, to outline the sociolinguistic situation. Full-time form

The final evaluation is carried out on a single 100-point scale. Grades Excellent (90-100), Good (75-89), Satisfactory (60-74), Unsatisfactory (0-59) are assigned based on the results of exams, completion of coursework and qualification work of the bachelor, internships. During the exam, the student receives a final score, which consists of the sum of points for the semester (maximum 60, minimum 36) and points for the exam (maximum 40, minimum 24). The grades Pass (60-100), Fail (0-59) are assigned based on the results of individual assignments, laboratory work, practical and seminar classes with credit as the form of final control. Specific measures and the scheme of assessment are set out in the work programs of academic disciplines and correspond to the principles of "Regulations on the organization of the educational process in KNUTS". To maintain academic integrity, participants in the educational process are guided by the norms of the "Ethical Code of the University Community".

The educational program provides for a mandatory work experience (communication and translation) internship in Japanese and English. Places of internship: Japanese Language and Literature Center of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; the Scientific Library of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; National Museum "Chernobyl", Ukraine-Japan Center named after Igor Sikorsky.

The Bachelor of Philology can work in the scientific, literary, publishing and educational fields; in print and electronic mass media, prepare and translate documents, edit and correct texts, in the field of advertising and PR technologies; in various foundations, unions, humanitarian foundations, museums, art and cultural centers, etc. Knowledge of Japanese and English offers employment opportunities in various sectors of the economy where translation services, communication and text creation in these languages are required, as well as in travel companies and international organizations.
