1. To know the main historical figures and main events from the history of Ukraine.
2. To be able to determine the results and consequences of the most important events in the history of Ukraine.
3. Possess elementary skills of working with educational literature.
Course content
Acquaintance with the historiography and scientific results of research schools that studied the historical connections between Ukraine and the East. Clarifying the place of Ukraine in events and phenomena related to the East. Disclosure of the "Ukrainian policy" of Eastern countries. Coverage of "Eastern politics" (Middle Eastern, Caucasian, etc.) of Ukraine. Establishing the reasons and main actors who contributed to or, on the contrary, hindered the development of Ukraine's relations with the countries of the East. Clarification of the role of the world's leading countries in the relations between Ukraine and the East. Determining the importance of foreign trade in bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the East. Knowledge of humanitarian cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the East as an important means of forming the "image" of Ukraine in the East and the "image" of the East in Ukraine. The study discipline "Historical and Local History Studies" is a complex discipline consisting of two parts: Part 1. Ukraine and the East: historical connections (2 credits); Part 2. Linguistic studies of China (5 credits). Within the first part, 2 sections are defined: Section 1. Ukraine and the countries of the Near and Middle East and Section 2. Ukraine and the countries of the Far East.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of training: lectures and seminars conducted using interactive teaching methods, and individual work. The main types of activities and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom activities, answers during seminars, researche papers, presentations, module tests with open answers. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. Criteria for semester assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology
