Basic skills of analytical, search and research work; fluency in Japanese and skills of work with original texts; successful mastering of the disciplines "The Ukrainian and Eastern Folk Art", "Oral and Ancient Eastern Literature (language-specific)", "Medieval Eastern Literature (language-specific)", "Literature of the Ancient East: Patterns of Formation and Development".
Course content
The selective discipline DVS.1.16 "XIXth Century Japanese Literature" is taught in the eighth semester and consists of 3 credits, 90 hours (24 hours of lectures and 14 hours of seminars, as well as 52 hours of self-study). The form of final control is an examination. The course is designed to form the relevant knowledge and ideas of student about peculiarities of the literary process in Japan during the XIX century, the specifics of its cultural and literary exchange with the Western countries, to introduce key figures of the late Edo and Meiji periods, as well as their creative heritage, to explain how to determine the genre-style and figurative specifics of iconic works of the XIX century, to provide information about the leading artistic directions of the Japanese literature of the Meiji era.
