Successful mastering of the disciplines "Japanese Language", "Introduction to Eastern Philology", "Translation Studies", "Culture-Oriented Linguistics", "Stylistics", "Translation Practice", etc.; knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics and translation studies; knowledge of the basics of the practice of Japanese text translation, interpretation skills.
Course content
The discipline VB.2.06 "The Japanese-Ukrainian Written Translation" from the optional block of disciplines "Japanese Linguocultural Studies and Translation" is a specialized discipline for students studying in the specialty "Eastern Language (Japanese) and Literature, Western European Language and Translation"; it is taught in the 6th semester, the scope of the discipline is 3 credits: 40 academic hours of practical classes and 50 hours of self-study, form of control – a pass-fail examination. The course is designed to deepen the Japanese proficiency of students, develop the skills and abilities necessary for appropriate Japanese-Ukrainian translation in various spheres of life. The task is to familiarize students with the peculiarities of translating texts of various types, as well as foster skills of understanding the translation process in general and its individual stages, which are extremely necessary for a qualified Japanese translator. Self-study of students covers individual study of special literature.
