Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Rules for constructing sentences, phrases, and phrasal units related to the most predictable situations involving the repertoire of grammatical structures; 2. To have 1,500 lexical items, some of which are stable sayings, idioms, phrasal verbs. In addition, to know different ways of using the same word, as well as synonyms and antonyms of different lexical units; 3. The studied vocabulary material should contribute to the understanding of the main content of clear normative speech on topics that are close and often used in education, description of leisure time; to provide solutions to most problems during a stay in a foreign country.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to ensure the formation of students' communicative competence (linguistic, speech and linguo-sociocultural) in the spheres of everyday communication in oral and written forms and their achievement of the B1+-B2 English language proficiency level in accordance with the "All-European recommendations on language education: teaching, learning, assessment" (2001).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides for the following forms of training organization: practical classes conducted using interactive learning methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classroom work, answers in practical classes, presentations, modular control works with open answers. Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom activities and for individual work. Criteria for semester assessment are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
