Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language, differential features of texts of different styles. 2. Be able to distinguish texts that need editing. 3. Have elementary skills in linguistic analysis of the text.
Course content
Scientifically based methodological foundations of editing, criteria for functional analysis of the language, clear ideas about the functional styles of the Ukrainian literary language are presented. Based on a set of theoretical knowledge of the basics of editing, skills are formed for the practical use of methods of working with the text, its structure, language design and the ability to provide editorial analysis of the author's original, evaluate the linguistic and communicative component of the text, the ability to justify editorial decisions and apply the most optimal types of edits. Academic discipline "Ukrainian language and literature" is a complex discipline consisting of two parts: Part 1. Ukrainian language: basics of editing (2 credits); Part 2. Eastern reminiscences in Ukrainian literature (2 credits).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course provides the following forms of organization of training: practical classes conducted using interactive teaching methods, and independent work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: the answer in a practical lesson, the analysis of texts, the detection of errors, independent editing of the text, the test. Detailed planned educational activities and teaching methods are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, in particular theoretical training, which is 40% of the total assessment, and practical training, which is 60% of the total assessment. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student for classroom work and for independent work; As a result: in the maximum dimension of 100 points, in the minimum dimension 60 points. The discipline ends with a getting the credit, which is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Evaluation criteria are presented in the working program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
