Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian and foreign languages (Portuguese and English), in oral and in written form, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 14. Use Portuguese and English in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life. PLO 16. Know and understand basic concepts and theories in the field of translation studies, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 21. Interpret, abstract, annotate and adequately translate (from Portuguese, English and Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except highly specialized ones. Examination regulations and grading scale
Exams (written, oral, mixed form), credit tests, differentiated credit tests, mid-course control, current control (presentations, reports/abstracts), defence of course projects/ course work, final (certification) exams, defence of bachelor's qualification paper. Assessment of learning outcomes is carried out on a 100-point scale and a national scale. The minimum positive level of assessment is 60 points. According to the exam results, the student is graded on a 4-point scale: “Excellent” (90-100 points), “Good” (75-89 points), “Satisfactory” (60-74 points), “Unsatisfactory” (35-59 points). If the exam is not conducted, the results are evaluated on a 2-point scale: “Passed” (60-100 points) or “Fail” (0-59 points). Specific assessment procedures are explained in the programs of the disciplines. The basic principles of assessment are explained in the "Regulations on the organization of the educational process in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv".

Work placement
Translation Internship with a break from theoretical training aims to develop and consolidate translation skills. During the internship, students have the opportunity to practice Portuguese-Ukrainian written and oral translations, compiling a bilingual glossary, as well as preparing parallel text corpora, performing abstract translations, making annotations, etc. Translation Internship can take place at state, governmental and non-governmental organizations and institutions, diplomatic missions of Portuguse-speaking countries, translation agencies, industrial enterprises, publishing houses, travel bureaus or agencies, the Center for Portuguese Language and Culture.
