Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements
Implementation of the theoretical and practical parts of OP «International Journalism». Completion of industrial pre-diploma practice with a grade of not less than 75 points. Choosing a specialized block of disciplines from the curriculum and obtaining an average score of at least 75 based on the results of all the disciplines included in it. Obtaining at least 75 points on the final certification (completion of a comprehensive qualification exam).
Programme learning outcomes
PRN1. To know and understand the nature, sources and directions of the evolution of international relations, international politics, foreign policy of states, the state of theoretical studies of international relations and world politics. PRN2. Critically understand and analyze global processes and their impact on international relations. PRN3. Apply modern scientific approaches, methodologies and methods for researching problems of international relations and foreign policy. PRN4. Analyze and evaluate the problems of international and national security, international and internationalized conflicts, approaches, methods and mechanisms of ensuring security in the international space and in the foreign policy of states. PRN5. Collect, process and analyze information about the state of international relations, world politics and foreign policy of states. PRN6. Identify, assess and forecast political, diplomatic, security, social and other risks in the field of international relations and global development. PRN7. Assess and analyze international and foreign policy problems and situations, propose approaches to solving such problems. PRN8. Communicate freely in national and foreign languages orally and in writing, on professional and scientific issues. PRN9. Prepare analytical reports, reports and other documents on the state of international relations, foreign policy,public communications and regional studies. PRN10. Develop and implement applied research projects of international relations, foreign and world politics. PRN11. To carry out professional oral and written translation from/to a foreign language, in particular, on the professional subject of international cooperation, foreign and world politics. PRN12. Formulate modeling tasks, create and research models of objects and processes of international relations, foreign policy, public communications and regional studies. PRN13. Examination regulations and grading scale
The assessment criteria are determined by the Procedure for assessing students' knowledge under the credit-module system of organizing the educational process at KNUTSH (http://www.soc.univ.kiev.ua/sites/default/files/newsfiles/otsin.pdf). Information about the forms of control measures in the disciplines and their evaluation criteria are communicated by teachers in the first classes. Work programs for disciplines, in which control measures (methods of assessment) are defined, which allow to achieve specific learning results from the discipline, are published on the website of the Institute, and are also stored in the departments in electronic and paper form. In accordance with the "Concept of Training Specialists Using a Dual Form of Education" (approved by the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine dated January 26, 2018, Protocol No. 1/3-4), the Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations is planning development activities models of a dual form of education and approbation of its individual elements (the study of experience and cooperation with Maria Sklodowska-Curie University, Lublin, Poland, Poznań University, Faculty of Political Sciences and Journalism, Poland and Ivan Javakhishvili National University of Tbilisi, Georgia) Centers for approbation dual form of education can become the sites of the World Broadcasting Service - public radio, the Ukrinform information agency, TRC "5", the newspaper "Holos Ukrainy".
Work placement
Industrial (pre-diploma) practice in the amount of 9 credits is provided for the OPP. Internships are regulated by the Training Program of Internships and the approved schedule of internships on the basis of the State Information Agency "Ukrinform", UA First- Public TV, TRC "5" channel, TRC "Studio 1+1", TV channel "Pryamiy" and other international newsrooms media.
Work-based learning
Traditional forms of education are used - lectures, seminars, practical classes, laboratory work, master classes, practice in professional journalistic editorial teams. Written and oral exams and tests, differentiated tests, presentation of individual and collective educational journalistic projects, defense of master's thesis.
Occupational profiles of graduates
Graduates can work as journalists, columnists, media analysts specializing in international topics - politics, economy, culture and social life, in the editorial offices of printed and online publications, on TV channels and radio stations of private, public, state and municipal forms of ownership, in information agencies, both within Ukraine and abroad.
