Graduates who have successfully defended their bachelor’s thesis and completed their final evaluation are issued a standard certificate awarding the bachelor’s degree and conferring the educational qualification Bachelor of Philology in specialization Eastern Languages and Literatures (including Translation), Hindi as the first foreign language.
Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate fluently on professional matters with specialists and non-specialists in the national language and foreign languages (Hindi and English), both orally and in writing, and use these skills to facilitate effective intercultural communication.
PLO 2. Work effectively with information: select necessary information from various sources, including professional literature and electronic databases; critically analyse and interpret it; organise, classify and systematise it.
PLO 3. Organise one’s own learning and self-education.
PLO 4. Understand the fundamental principles of human existence, nature and society.

Examination regulations and grading scale
The assessment of students’ knowledge in each subject comprises continuous assessment, module-based assessment and final assessment. Continuous assessment takes the form of oral questioning, written assignments, seminar presentations, essays and presentations. Module-based assessment takes the form of a written module test or examination. Final assessment includes tests, differentiated tests, examinations (oral-written, written, or in test format), a final examination, a comprehensive final examination, and the defence of a bachelor’s thesis.

Work placement
The communication and translation placement in two languages (Hindi and English) is a compulsory component. The placements take place at the Centre for Hindi Language and Indian Literature, the Embassy of India in Ukraine (Hindi), and the Department of Methods of Teaching Ukrainian and Foreign Languages and Literatures (English).
Internships take place with the assistance of the Embassy of India in Ukraine at educational institutions in India, in particular at the Central Institute of Hindi (Delhi and Agra), provided that the student has an average grade of no less than 75 marks.

A Bachelor of Arts in Philology can work in academic, literary, publishing and educational sectors; in print and digital media, in advertising and PR agencies; in various humanitarian foundations, associations and organisations, museums, arts and cultural centres, and so on. Knowledge of Hindi and English opens up employment opportunities in various sectors of the economy where
translation services, communication facilitation and the creation of texts in these languages are required, as well as in travel agencies and international organisations. Types of work that a Bachelor of Philology can perform: analysis, editing, reviewing, annotating, evaluating and directly translating spoken and written texts of various styles and genres in Hindi and English.
