Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the culture, history, geography, religion, way of life and customs of the Indian people; to form linguistic and regional studies competence. To ensure the formation of sociocultural competence in students, which consists of regional studies and linguistic and regional studies competences.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points received by the student in the process of performing the specified types and forms of training and obtained at the exam. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam.
If the student scored less than 24 points on the exam (i.e. 60% of the 40 points allocated for the exam), then they are not added to the semester grade regardless of the number of points received during the semester, and in the examination report, in the column "final grade for the discipline" only the number of points received during the semester is indicated.
The exam consists of two parts: 1) written answers to two theoretical questions; 2) oral discussion of topics related to these questions.
