PLO 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to solving them using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 16. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex tasks and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and training. PLO 18. Demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, the main theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific language pair. PLO 19. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of the professional disciplines "Linguistics and Regional Studies of the Arab East / Iran / India". 2. Knowledge of the history, culture, and religion of the countries of the Near and Middle East region.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the basics of literary studies as a science based on the material of ancient literatures of the Near and Middle East.

Assessment methods and criteria
The credit is issued based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Students who have scored a minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "passed". Students who have not scored a minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "not passed". Students who have scored less than 60 points in total for the semester, in order to take the credit, it is necessary to prepare material on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing independent works, essays or, if necessary, write a test paper.
