Those who choose the selective block “Russian Language in a Linguocultural Aspect” get qualification of Specialist (Translation). Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1. To freely communicate in Ukrainian and Russian languages in the professional sphere with specialists and non-specialists orally and in writing, to use those languages for effective intercultural communication organisation. PLO 2. To effectively work with information, i.e. to select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, to critically analyze and interpret them, organize, classify and systematize. PLO 3. To organize the process of learning and self-education. PLO 4. To understand the fundamental principles of human existence, nature and society. PLO 5. To collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 6. To use information and communication technologies, in particular, to solve complex specialized tasks and problems of professional activity. PLO 7. To understand the main problems of philology and ways to solve them using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 8. To know and understand the Russian language system and history, and to be able to use this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 9. Examination regulations and grading scale
The final evaluation of learning outcomes at the University is carried out on a single 100-point scale. The assessment of the applicant corresponds to the ratio established of the level of professional and general competencies to the planned learning outcomes (as a percentage). The minimum positive level of assessment is 60 points. According to the results of exams, according to the results of course and diploma works (projects); based on the results of work in practice, the student is also graded on a 4-point scale: “Excellent”, “Good”, “Satisfactory”, “Unsatisfactory”. If the final exam is not conducted in the disciplines, the results of the applicant’s work are evaluated on a 2-point scale: “Passed” or “Fail”. Sanctions for academic integrity violation are determined by the Regulations on the organization of the educational process at the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv.

The educational program includes the following internships: the required course “Professional Internship (Translation)”; and the elective courses “Internship (Translation and Area Studies)” and “Internship (Teaching).” General provisions regarding internships, their objectives, content, methodological support, and other information are outlined in the “Regulations on the Conduct of Internships for International Students of the Department of Ukrainian and Russian as Foreign Languages at the Institute of Philology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv” and in the internship syllabi.
