Prerequisites and co-requisites
Understand the distinctive features of Russian vocabulary and grammar; be able to comment on and analyze course material, present new material in the context of previously acquired knowledge and information, and illustrate it with examples; have developed skills in presenting material in a scholarly manner in Russian; and be familiar with techniques for engaging in dialogue with the audience.
Course content
The aim of the course is to develop the professional competencies of future teachers and prepare them for independent teaching. During their teaching practicum, students attend lectures and practical classes in modern Russian; familiarize themselves with teaching methods, forms, and techniques; develop a detailed plan for lectures and practical classes in their specialty; and conduct practical classes. Through direct participation in the activities of the educational institution where the practicum takes place, professional skills and abilities in planning and organizing the pedagogical process are reinforced and refined, and students develop the readiness to perform the duties of a teacher and engage in pedagogical creativity.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Independent student work. Individual consultations with the internship supervisor. Attending classes, preparing and developing lesson plans, and conducting classes. The instructional-practical method.
Assessment methods and criteria
Throughout the practicum, students’ work is evaluated according to the types of assignments and forms of assessment: interviews with the instructor, class discussions; the preparation of detailed lesson plans for one lecture and two practical sessions in the Russian language course; the development of a lesson plan; and the conduct of a practical session. The criteria for evaluating the teaching practicum include the rationality and completeness of the teaching materials selected by the student, as confirmed by the instructor; the successful conduct of the practical session; and the timely preparation of reporting materials. At the end of the practicum, students prepare and submit a report in the form of a portfolio. Specific evaluation criteria are outlined in the course syllabus.
