Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before beginning this course, students should be familiar with the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process and possess a basic factual understanding of the humanities and social sciences.
Course content
The aim of the course is to develop a foundation of knowledge, skills, and abilities in rational, critical, and empathetic thinking to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems of a philological nature in the field of the humanities. The course introduces students to philosophical thought in its historical development and current state, as well as to the fundamental approach to understanding the foundations of human existence, cognition, and activity, as shaped by the characteristics of their respective sociocultural era. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the specifics of philosophical knowledge, its issues, concepts, and categories, as well as its structure. It demonstrates the methodological role of philosophical knowledge in understanding ontological, epistemological, axiological, and social problems of existence. It introduces students to the fundamental laws governing the development of nature, society, and humanity’s place in the world.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, independent study.
Teaching methods: problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, theoretical-practical methods, and conscious-practical methods. Illustrative methods. Independent study using scientific and reference literature.
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral presentations, humanities workshops, and modular quizzes. Specific grading criteria are outlined in the course syllabus.
